When All Appears Hopeless

When all appears hopeless
Our home is burn’t to the ground
All treasures lost
Nothing of value to be found

When we sit in the ashes
And cry in despair
Loved ones lost
Oh how can tragedy be fair?

When we ache with the grief
Knowing how life was before
In the wake of this destruction
We question, what for?

Empathy in the silence.....
Those who come to give aid
Become sober and thoughtful
As anguish takes time to fade

.....What possible good
Comes from the fury of a fire
A NEW BEGINNING?
Much grace we’ll require
