Those With A Religious Spirit

Those with a ‘religious spirit’
Fail to be transformed
Even though they know the scriptures
And all about being reborn

They see faults in others
Yet not in their own life
They tear down and don’t build
Which creates unrest and strife

They can’t receive correction
Or the council of men
And to put things right with another
They believe God has appointed them…

They are intolerant
Of failures and weakness
They seek recognition
Instead of true humility and meekness

They are suspicious
Of God’s new move
They tend to Glory in the past
So let’s move out of this groove
And join with others
Being adaptable and free
To understand another
And in an exclusive circle not be

As we walk humbly with God
Loving Justice and Mercy
We will become the vessels
Which quench the thirst of the thirsty
