She Looked At Him

She looked at him
He quickly glared back
“Go eat", she said
From THE NEW hay stack

When she touched the gate
He sniffed and snorted
His perception of her
Seemed rather distorted…

He began to dribble
Then gave a large roar
His obnoxious behaviour
She chose to ignore


She didn’t react
Remained cool and calm
The fence was between them
So he could do her no harm

…He sloshed through mud
To join THE HERD
His body language
Looked rather absurd

…When he realized
That she was no threat
This old bull changed
His instinctive mind set

His 'new manners'
Now reveal plainly
That stranger's are welcome
In 'his territory'
